Newest version – new functionality:
Log 7.4.8->7.4.9
Error with transparency in zoom and leg map corrected.
Transparency for each map type added.
Time Widget can now be offset to show competition time.
Log 7.4.6->7.4.8
The app should now try to reuse the settings as before upgrading to a new version of the app
A lot more changes to hardware encoding in the engine of the app
Quality settings added that will work with hardware encoding – result of the encoding like Mbps and file size can now be seen in the log.
Log 7.4.5->7.4.6
Hopefully solved problems with detecting hardware and low quality in prepare step.
Log 7.4.4->7.4.5
Hardware encoding is now autodetecting GPU hardware for video encoding, there was an error when not Nvidia – In the setting you will see the detected hardware in the info box.
New default settings for arrow and dynamic map in the map overlay settings. Widgets are shown default.
Log 7.4.3->7.4.4
Datawidgets – simple style: Heart rate, distance, time, pace and a height/HR graph. All resizable.
Log 7.4->7.4.3
New dynamic map window, with automatic zoom, and panning, min and max zoom.
Log 7.2->7.4:
- Much faster
- Colorcoded tail, and outlined tail and arrow (livelox like)
Log: 6.6 -> 7.2:
1. 2K and 4K performance enhanced, much faster encoding.
2. New concept of rendering the map -now you can set the update frequence to higher than 1 second (default now is 0.25 sec between updates)- just write the update interval in the Settings form for example 0.25 seconds thats 4 times pr second where the GPS arrow is moving. Gives a much smoother experience. It have influence on the time generating the map-part.
3. Time estimates when running is improved. If you have made HD, 2K or 4K videos before, it will now try yo estimate time for the whole process, both map overlay generation and video generation.
Log: 6.5 -> 6.6: AVI and other videofiles not MP4 is handled. Added an application setting for encoding speed (previously fixed to ultrafast; some sources indicate this can reduce output quality).
Log: 6.4 -> 6.5: Transparent gradient around map instead of frame now possible. Error with to low map time when speed > 1 corrected.

Log: 6.0 -> 6.4: Corrected error with adjustment window for certain regions. Scroll and double click on maps to adjust arrow, colors and tails, in Adjustment Window, is now showed as help text.
Log: 5.9->6.0: Corrected error so changing from 2K/4K to HD do not displace maps out of reach. Error with negative GPS offset in adjustment window is now solved, by adding negative time to inputvideo.
Log: 5.8->5.9 : Corrected an error with 2K/4K 4:3 format videos, and always use “ultrafast” for encoding.
1. Map flip function:
This means that you can have 2 map images and tracks for one course with one video. You need to split the GPS in Quickroute for map 1 and 2. The output will be 2 separate videos that can be merged in the editor in the program.
2. Video format handling:
2.7K and 4K support based on the input video – or downscale to 1920×1080.
3. Jump to control:
When syncing (Adjust timing) the track with the video you can choose a control number to jump to the control on the track to check or adjust the video syncing.
The program has options for adjusting your video and map and is faster than previous versions, there is also a build in video enhancement module and a video editor module for adding images and other videos.
Screen dumps from the program:
Main window
Merges multiple video files, video filters and deshake options and much more

Adjustment window (Adjust Timing button)
You can adjust timing for track/video, track colors, arrow form and size, tail size and length, map frames, map sizes and jump to control etc.

Installation
Version 5.x: Unzip all files. There is no installation process. You can simply run “Headcam Orienteering.exe.”
The first time you run Headcam Orienteering, Windows may ask if you really want to run Headcam Orienteering. Simply allow the programme to run.
Download Quickroute
As a preparation for Headcam Orienteering you need to adjust your map and tracking. This is done by running your map and gpx/fit-tracking through Quickroute.
Please read our detailed instructions for running both programs.
